Four Simple Steps To Prolong Battery Life
- Sep 05, 2017 -

1. Be sure to place your APC ups in a cool, dry and well-ventilated position. Ideally, the temperature of the UPS placement should be no higher than 24 degrees Celsius. At the same time, for ventilation purposes, each side to set aside about 1 to 2 inches of space, easy to air circulation.

2. Each year, only 1 to 2 UPS runtimes are calibrated when necessary. Sometimes you can perform run-time calibration to verify that your uptime is sufficient. However, frequent execution of run-time calibrations reduces the life expectancy of the APC battery.

3. Do not store APC batteries for long periods of time. The new battery can be stored for 6-12 months. After this time, you should use the battery as soon as possible, otherwise you will lose a large amount of power stored. Storage of used batteries is not recommended.

4. Load do not exceed 80% of the rated capacity of UPS equipment, as this can lead to less uptime. When the load increases, the elapsed time decreases accordingly. If the power supply does not work, a fully-loaded UPS will soon run out and release its battery power, which will reduce the battery's life expectancy. Note: To ensure that the battery is running longer, do not connect the laser printer to the UPS standby battery socket. Ensure that the laser printer uses a "surge only" outlet (using the appropriate model). For UPS with no "surge only" sockets, it is recommended that you connect the laser printer to a separate APC surge suppressor.
